Voices from Prison will be hosted by John Costi. This version of the popular event will feature musical showcases, moving renditions and poetic readings of work created by people in secure settings entered into the 2024 Koestler Awards, performed by a range of artists engaged with Koestler Arts.

Meet your host
John Costi is a London-based artist whose practice, which spans sculpture, installations, writing and performance, is influenced by his experience of being imprisoned in his early youth.
Since sharing his work with Koestler Arts in 2007, John has had a longstanding relationship with the charity, most recently co-curating its annual exhibition No Comment at the Southbank Centre with Jeremy Deller.
John is an example of the transformative power of the arts in prison and other secure settings, which this event will shine a light on.
